I thought this week's Illustration Friday topic would herald my tentative return to pencil work nicely. Let's hope this 'acorn' of an idea will grow into a sturdy oak as I create more using pencil.

Incidentally, last night I finally got round to watching The Secret Of Kells, a beautiful Belgian-Irish animated film nominated for several awards. If you need some inspiration or just fancy a pretty little story, I urge you to take a look.

Fresh from the weekend...

...with a new poster design. The Peterborough Festival has in fact just finished, but here's what would have happened if I had been able to design the poster. Poster design is a chief love of mine, and I'm trying to push myself in new directions and come up with concepts I normally shy away from. I'm really pleased with this, I think it has a circusy feel.
